For Mom
When we walk, we walk towards our memories.
Every step of the journey, we walk towards our memories.
We put one foot in front of the other, guided by faith.
We can’t go back, and at times that makes us want to stop.
Our past is before us, but always out of reach.
One foot in front of the other, following our memories.
We long for a shortcut to catch up with our past.
Every step to relive the memories we cherish.
The farther we travel, the harder it gets.
But the further we travel, the stronger we get.
One foot in front of the other, our memories feeding our strength.
The love of our past illuminates our way.
We can push towards our future in the warmth of our past.
Every step of the journey, we walk towards our memories.
And the love that we give them, our memories never forget.
